French Campsites: Book Direct or via Eurocamp/Alfresco etc

Hoping to book a week or two at a Dordogne campsite this summer and wondered if it's generally better to book direct with the campsite, or via Eurocamp or one of the other companies that also advertise holidays at the campsite? What's the difference in terms of price, what you get for your money etc?

We're looking at booking a mobile home.

TIA

We always book direct or with some of the lesser known companies such as Vacansoleil as they are cheaper.

Depends if you have your own tent or want to do the kids activities.

We always went with Eurocamp because we couldn’t fit tent and kids 4 in the car. You can also do split sites. While on one site a French girl told me the Castle campsites are better. It is usually a chateau campsite with better facilities and often has kids activities. We took her advice.
Hope you enjoy your trip we loved camping with the kids in France.

I think it’s always good to price check and compare sites to see the differences. At two of our favorite sites, Eurocamp is definitely cheaper but the pitches are not nearly as nice as the ones managed directly by the site.

It is nearly always cheaper to book direct with the campsite unless the holiday company has a deal that includes the ferry crossing. As others have said site owners often save their best pitches for their own customers.
