Taking dd1 for a birthday camping trip at the beginning of July, I've made a shortlist from the ukcampsite website, but wondered if anyone had any personal recommendations Sparkly(!) clean facilities feature high on my priorities! TIA

Riveside camping

I am not a camper but I go to this place often (was there today with my dd) as it is so lovely, with beautiful grounds and a great cafe run by charming people. You can sit on the huge verandah overlooking the river with a glass of wime with the (charming) kids' playground in site.

Whilst not on the Lleyn, you are right on the doorstep-25 mins drive to Pwllheli and also within easy reach of Llanberis (15 mins) and Caernarfon (5 mins)

What are you and dd into??

Ooh that looks lovely! She's specifically asked to go body boarding, so I thought the Llyn would be the nearest place with nice beaches to go for a weekend (We live in Derbyshire)

BTW sitting on a verandah with wine watching the children play sounds bliss!

Probably one of the best located sites is \link{http://www.eisteddfa.fsnet.co.uk/Eisteddfa} near Criccieth. The site itself is lovely - Drew and Karen who run the site are sticklers for quiet nights. The toilet / shower blocks are sparkly clean and the pitches are really generous too. We find it easy to get to and it's great for getting into Snowdonia too or across to Harlech.

You are 20 minutes walk from Criccieth itself - about 10 minutes drive down to Pwhelli then onto Abersoch with the Bodenites. I love their webcam here

For body boarding though you would be better out towards Porth Neigwl so a site the 'other side' of Abersoch might be better. Somewhere like Bryn Bach we've not stayed there but it looks nice.

and there is a big new Asda in the middle of Pwhelli which is good for 'supermarket' shopping.

We love the LLyn can't you tell?

Thanks Lucycat, I was hoping you might turn up here But oh no, not Boden-ites?! I was looking at Bryn Bach actually and also The Willows, bt the latter is quite expensive (by my stingy standards anyway!) Will have a look at your suggestion, thanks
