i went with our 12 week old to the new forest, on bank holiday weekend in may when it was raining and galeforce winds!!! it hasnt put me off!! we also first went camping with out 15 month old last year and it was great. we took a travel cot. our little one loved the open space to just run around.

i read a good tip on one of the threads about getting them a waterproof all-in-ones so that they dont get wet and dirty in the morning dew.

go for it as its never as bad as you think it will be - good luck

We went to Wales a couple of years ago with ours who were 2.10 and 4 months at the time and it was great. The fresh air knocked them out in the evenings, tho bedtime was later than normal (after a pub meal!) as it was light till late in July. I suppose he's still young enough to be strapped into his buggy without too much protest while you have stoves on the go (my dd is now 2.3 and will not go in the pushchair anymore, so if we go camping this year we'll need to watch her like a hawk).

Take plenty of warm bedding in case the nights are nippy. Check out the washing facilities if you can - you could take a baby bath to wash him in if there isn't one - otherwise just with showers it might be difficult to wash him. Enjoy yourselves!
