The camper will be mouldy and everything will need washing up, the tent needs re-waterproofing and the airbed has a puncture, I will discover a mouldy bread roll in the cupboard and at least 3 empty beer bottles under the seats, ds will run amok and cause chaos and get lost in giant field....it's all good

Can I join you in joyous shrieking? We're going too.
This will be first trip with new baby. We used to be super-organised but since ds was born we've been hopeless, so odds are we will forget the tent.

Where are you going?

Tigana · 05/06/2007 15:53

I have put in an order with DH to buy some pear cider ...and our friends are coming too to try out their new g-i-a-n-t tent (sleeps 8, there are 2 of them). Tra la la la!

We are going to a top secret location in Cornwall large field near a cliff...near St Agnes.

I must start a list of what I need to pack!!

Fanstastic, we have managed two trips so farthis year and once my mysterious spots have gone we will be going again.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 05/06/2007 15:57

LOL - we are going to secret location in Lake District (well hidden despite it's being near Ambleside) on a farm with chickens and a stone sink to wash in. Meeting up with some of dh's hillwalkery friends and their babies.
But no hillwalking - hooray for toddlers.

twinsetandpearls · 05/06/2007 15:59

please tell me you secret location, we are langdale regulars,

Surfermum · 05/06/2007 15:59

@ camping AND in Cornwall.

Where's the pear cider from? DH loves his cider, the rougher the better.

dustystar · 05/06/2007 16:00

Does he want the stuff i just bought from Devon Surfer? I got carried away but tbh its a bit strong and scrumpy like for me

Tigana · 05/06/2007 16:01

surfermum - not sure where he plans to get it from, but I know he can get it as his mate had some the other day....called kopplasomethingorother!

oh have a fabulous time! We would be going this weekend too, but I have only just cleared away the stuff from last week and it's my birthday this weekend so I am doing the swanky restaurant thing instead.

Tigana · 05/06/2007 16:02

DH loves cider too, likes it when it's "chewy"...urk. Personally just the smell reminds of of drinking too much white lightening aged about 15 and feeling rather ill!

Twinset - hopefully dh won't kill me for posting this on internet but:

it's up a tiny track which leaves the road in GR346040.

This takes you into a farmyard with the farmhouse on the right,
barn in front, gate in top RH corner - through this and up the
track

No signs or anything.

near Loughrigg Tarn

Let me know if you go there

dustystar · 05/06/2007 16:04

Seriously Surfer if he#'d like it he can have it. It seemed like a good idea at the time but I know i don't really want to drink it - I'm too much of a wus

twinsetandpearls · 05/06/2007 16:17

Thanks for the info,

we have been to langdale NT site and the from site up the road.

Diplidophus · 05/06/2007 16:23

Tigana - we love the campsite in St Agnes and have stayed there a few times.

We did our first trip at the weekend. We had gorgeous sunshine had finally aplashed out on a big 8 man tent (2 adults, DS1 (2.5) and a very large bump). Worth its weight in gold.

Stayed in a lovely place near Corfe Castle - absolutely beautiful views; even 'Thomas passing by!)

Have a great time!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 05/06/2007 17:07

Twinset, Langdale is on our to-camp-at list.

twinsetandpearls · 05/06/2007 17:14

The Langdale NT campsite is fabulous although some weekends it is hard to get a pitch, we coudn't bank holiday weekend and had to go to the farm campsite at Chapel stiles which is not as good IMO

PandaG · 05/06/2007 17:17

Langdale fabby fabby campsite. So picturesque. Was my first foray into camping since a teenager last year, and now we are hooked!

Did first BH weekend near Ashbourne, and Mon-Sat last week near Slimbridge. Had a fab time even if I did have to sleep in my hat!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 05/06/2007 17:19

Panda I just read your post and thought 'Sleep in her hat? What, doesn't she have a tent? Must be a very big hat.'

doh.

PandaG · 05/06/2007 17:22

NO, have tent too (hee hee!)We have a Hartford XXL - has 4 pods each sleep 2 very comfortably, and there are only 4 of us. I wanted plenty of space if we ended up camping in the rain - which we did last wek but it was fine!
DH is now bidding in a canopy for it too!
