Wolfgirl - we are going Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire, we haven't been there before but have heard lots of good reports. Hope the weather is better than when we had our last camping trip at the last bank hol

Peachy · 07/06/2007 21:01

Wolfgirl I didnt relaise you were close to us (Dh works in Filton, we're over the bridge)

If you're buying tables peoples, consider a roll up aluminium one such as Hi Gear make- we bought one on a whil last year and have never regretted it. For Sal, Gwent Camping do them, but for others they're not ahrd to get (and we double its use because as it is slatted it makes a great drying rack too LOL)

Frizbe · 07/06/2007 21:05

Oh damn!!! was looking for that 6 man tent two weeks ago and wasn't in stock anywhere, so brought another, now they have the damn thing again and I've spent more money on another one
Its a fab tent if anyone wants to get one, a friend has one.....

Peachy · 07/06/2007 21:06

And if you're after a table and have a bit of cash we sat on one of these today, lovely and stable. Much better for adults.

Also got to see the new Vango breckenridge..... gorgeous! Good job we already chose ours, or we'd definitely ahve purchased the more expensive Vango

we have got the argos cooking stand, and it broke on the first use last weekend . Just hope they believe us, as its now gone down in price. Agree that the shelves are very flimsy.
Anyone know of anything similar with stronger shelves?

marymoocow · 07/06/2007 21:17

Wasn't the shelves that broke btw, was one of the joints. Not sure how it happened

Wolfgirl · 08/06/2007 08:46

Morning all

Peachy, we bought a roll up last year, but it was really expensive! we are looking forward to taking it though; we are trying to buy a few bits every year! I bought the aluminum fold up table from Argos yesterday and its great! However, the framed 4 tier shelving is rather heavy, but very sturdy!

We are off to Spitten Farm in Evesham next weekend. Hope the weather is good.

xx

This is a company off eBay I used last year, quite expensive though....

eBay - Batsmead - Outdoor stuff

OR

eBay - Leisuregear - Outdoor stuff again! quite expensive, so it might pay to look around in local shops, such as Argos or ALDI etc

marymoocow · 08/06/2007 09:48

anyone tried this .
We have the plastic version which is not very strong, but the design is brilliant for us iyswim. Just wondering if this would be any better?

Wolfgirl · 08/06/2007 10:27

we - as a family - decided not to get that style table/seating, just because we are so tall and BIGGGGGGGGGGGG! me and DH are both 6 footers and would be kneeing each other, or elbowing each other.

looks good tho xx

marymoocow · 08/06/2007 10:32

it would only be 3dc sitting at it so in that respect would be good. Just wondered whether it was worth the money or not. Also contemplating the one further down that Peachy tried. Could maybe get us all around that one.
Thanks for the reply.

Peachy · 08/06/2007 10:42

The one with thes tools would fit anyone- wolfgirl you're in Bristol? Just that a camping shop near us (haf an hour over the severn bridge) has it out on display to try out. Its the store in Raglan, the camping and kite centre if that helps? (they have an exceptionally good display anyway, plus a garden centre / cafe and play area so nice for a day out, and Raglcan castle nearby)

Update on my purchases from ARGOS: The alum folding table is great, accept we have to take it back because one of the hinges is naff, you have to prize it open with a spoon/knife; the framed 4 tier shelf unit is excellent and we love it to bits - a great buy

If when we get the folding table replaced and find the hinges dont work again, we will get a refund, and I will let you know. other than the hinge, it is a great table.

xx
