Going to Texas (whilst there will be camping)

But I'm a total novice and only ever camped as a teenager. Luckily bf is an expert. There won't be any mod cons, only thing we'll hear is nature. It's his grandma's land so we'll be the only ones for miles. It's right next to a river and woods.
My mum is scared for me but bf has done it for years so we'll be ok. Exdh would never camp, even a caravan was out of the question, so bf is a breath of fresh air and I'm really looking forward to it

when are you going? It can get very hot in the summer - but it sounds great!

Ulysees · 04/06/2007 19:12

yes it's going to be extremely hot, July 23rd. Think I'll need to have a water spray and fan with me although it'll need to be battery operated

That sounds fantastic, Ulysees.

Ulysees · 04/06/2007 19:23

I once went camping (to dull Devon by comparison) with a boyfriend when I was 19. We didn't have a startlingly amazing love life (I'm not sure if you do at that age), but there was something about being close to nature that brought out the primeval basic sex instinct.

Wow, you've deserved your luck! I've even marked it on my calendar (and that is most unlike me) ... positive vibes for Ulysees on July 23rd!!!

Ulysees · 04/06/2007 19:56

I go to texas 23rd but camping 30th, then back again to his place and friends are coming down from Wisconsin

It really sounds terrific! I don't know why, but the whole thing has touched a chord with me.

I don't do nice for the sake of being nice, but I'm all enlivened at the positive things that are just about to happen for you.

It just feels right, doesn't it?

Texas!!

FUCKING WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

Ulysees · 04/06/2007 20:04

yes it does feel right. It's so exciting and we're both experiencing new things. He came to Britain for the first time in May and we went to Barcelona, london and Whitby together. He liked whitby the best. We had a lovely romantic walk to sandsend and it was so quiet and idylic. He's just a country boy at heart

I love Whitby!

I'm from the SW, so it's not natural territory for me, but it's an amazing place.

I absolutely hated the Palladian manor house that now houses the tourist office at the top of the hill. Hated in a great way ... it really gave me the willies.

The Dracula museum was brilliant!

Ulysees · 04/06/2007 20:40

domestic, it's called Irvine which is funny as that's my maiden name Glad to hear it's cooler at night, that was my main worry though I doubt I'll sleep - be too scared too!

Wow you've been to Whitby Desiderata, it's one of my favourite places. The tourist information centre is near to the train station, is that where you mean? Doesn't look like an old building though?

No, you're right, Ulysses. There are two .. the one at bottom op'thill and the one at top op'thill, but the one at the bottom (by the station) is the main one.

Ulysees · 04/06/2007 20:59

So when you say hill do you mean near the abbey or near the whale bone?
Oh I wish I was there, think I'll talk a mate into going through one day next week.
