Just wondering if anyone has experience of one of these tents?
It looks gorgeous but I have never seen one IRL or known anyone who has one. It's just for DH and I.

No but I have an albatros (bigger). Have had canvas tents for thirty years and DeWard are the best out there imo, the stitching, finishing, zips, quality, everything about them is first class. Makes my little Cabanon tent look cheap and nasty which it isn’t.

You could also look at an Esvo Bedouin, very similar to the DeWard you are considering. Not quite the same quality but not the same price either!

Shipping directly from DeWard is not cheap - getting on for €200 for an albatros with vario, windshields, front hanging storage things and bedrooms and that was six years ago.

Shipping from Esvo is much cheaper, I can’t remember how much I paid for shipping from them (I bought a scouting tent a few years ago from them).

@RDeWinter thanks for the info. I am actually looking at a Esvo Bedouin 200! 😀 I have seen a 2nd hand (used for 14 nights apparently) dewaard advertised in the window of my local shop..... £600 for tent, vario and side panels. How does this sound?
The bedouin is free shipping from Esvo €650 ish new without the side panels.
We are off to the Isles of scilly next year so looking for a lighter canvas tent than our current sunncamp monster! 😀 It'll just be the two of us but still want some room!

I would have a look at the DeWard, it will still smell new if that is the case and I would snap their hands off if it looks good.

We do things like buy tents and then sell them after not a lot of use sometimes. Spent £3k on a tent for a specific holiday and loved it but found we didn’t use it enough to justify keeping it so sold it with four weeks use after a couple of years.

Thanks again, I will see if DH wants to go and look at the de waard....... It's nerve wracking thinking about spending that amount of money!!
