yes think there is a market here for 2 flashers joined by a walkway.

no but there is, its a great tent, just on the small side. it does end up as a largish circle (not too bad-will fit in car easily, though obscures a window a bit). and although its only got a hsh of 2000, it managed fine in a thunderstorm in mountain ash a week or two ago

kickassangel · 02/06/2007 21:21

a bit like ours
we went camping with dd for the first time last weekend (great weather for it!) and have just remembered how much we love it - but we are looking to buy a gazebo or something to provide a little cover to sit in once dd has gone to bed.

I love Vangos - have been messing about with some tents i borrowed this weekend & nothing was anywhere near as good - ours will easily stand up to a mountain storm (we've tested it) even though it's only a 3 season.

fillyjonk · 02/06/2007 21:38

vangos are splendid, agree

squidette · 02/06/2007 21:51

This is mine.

I love her. We all (me and 2 boys) managed to sleep in the big pod and use the little pod for storage and have the large area for Twister!

I also can pitch it on my own and NO slugs or rain (even though it poured on Tuesday night) - not even a drop.

And i can stand up everywhere.

I like seeing all the tents

sally, I have heard that in Millets you can buy it for £125 at the moment. Its advertised in the catalogue at 30% discount and apparently they have to honour the reduction.

The head room was what decided it for me too.

Its here and we love it- we can now, after 3 trips, get it up and down in 20 minutes each which is pretty good! The canopy is sepearte which is also good as we dont have to pitch that and can use smaller pitches if we want.

The size is 7.5 X 3.5 without canopy.

ALso good was the HH (5000 ) and the price- tent £189; canopy £50; foot print (always an important one of the SIG tent you like ahs the option) £35; carpet () £40 although its really an Outwell one but fits perfectly

LOVE my tent, couldn't better it and believe me I know (in the sad obsessive way) my tents LOL!

The coleman is a nice tent I think, certainly never heard a bad word about it (I like the weathermaster one)

squidette · 02/06/2007 22:10

sally, its got three huge doors, and you can use any one of them as a canopy. I wasnt sure whether the question about pitching it was for me? but i will answer anyway!

Its heavy - the poles for the roof go in first like a box structure, then you have to lift one end high to attach the side poles. Once you have done one end, you can then do the other.

I am 5'10" - if i was much smaller i would have struggled i think, especially with the internal central pole. But i could have stood on the coolbox, i suppose. Hardly any pegging as the external poles have pins that go through the groundsheet tabs and then only one guy from each pole (8) then 2 extra on the sides.

is ours. Huge and love the SIG and that the bedroom pods are removable. Takes us about 20mins to pitch.

brandnewhelsy · 04/06/2007 08:59

Just had our first trip out in the Ontario (same as Peachy's) - great tent, loads of space, stood up to a downpour in the Lake District on Thursday night. Second time we've put it up and it took us over an hour - nearly two to take it down. We are crap at putting tents up.

iMum · 05/06/2007 19:27

Anyone got this one? I am selling my coleman 6 as I am looking for one where the whole family can sleep in the same bit as im not comfy with the idea of the children at the other end of the tent iykwim

MaureenMLove · 05/06/2007 19:44

We've got this one. It didn't cost us nearly that much though!

lailasmum · 05/06/2007 20:07

Tinttotmummy the magellan looks great so do you mean you can totally remove the bedrooms and have just a 1 or two bedroomed tent instead of all 3? Do they zip on or something? I have a vango diablo 600 but at times its a little big on small sites with just one small child and I can also envisage the day it will be too small if we have more kids so a bit of flexibilty would be good.

inamuckingfuddle · 05/06/2007 20:53

this is ours great for 4 of us. loads of room inside and openings on 3 sides too, should the weather be good enough

tinytotmummy · 05/06/2007 21:57

lailasmum - yep, you can just have one or two bedroom pods in, they all fasten on to the flysheet with toggles. The whole tent has a sewn in groundsheet, so you still have that on the floor when you take the pods out. Pods have SIG too. Can you tell I love it? We got ours fromwww.worldofcamping.co.uk

Spider · 05/06/2007 22:00

This is my tent. I've just tried it out for the first time at the Sunrise Festival. Excellent design. A lovely big porch.

I couldn't work out how to do the groundsheet. It was just dd and me at the festy so we improvised a bit.

I'm so sad to be home already. I'm desperate to book another sesh.

tinytotmummy · 05/06/2007 22:02

Forgot to say, you can't alter the actual size of the whole tent, just remove inners so that you have more living space. Sorry! That would be good though..
