Camping recipes for teenagers

I’m taking 15 teens to a festival in a couple of weeks and looking for new recipes. I’ve taken them for a number of years and usually have sausages/chilli/bolognaise/pasta but im wondering if anyone can inspire me with new ideas.

It’s 19 people altogether, no allergies, 1 vegetarian. I’ll have a 2 ring stove and a fridge.

Cheese grills / toasties (whatever you call them) butter the outside of the bread, cheese inside and cook.

Halloumi burgers.

Campfire pizza (see Pinterest as haven't actually tried this myself).

Kebabs.

I wondered about pizza, but all recipes seem to need an actual fire, or at least a grill, which we don’t have. I’ll check to see if there are other ways of making it.

Thanks

Quesadillas. I feed my hungry lot on these when we're camping.

TheIsland · 03/08/2018 11:20

They’re our lunches most days. Very popular

Egg fried rice. Take the packet uncle bens and some sweet corn/peppers/scallions/chopped chicken/ham. Scramble 2 eggs per three people with a dash of soy add rice and chopped stuff. Serve with chilli sauce and more soy

Taco salad in a bag ... fry up mince with taco seasoning. Each kid gets a bag of Doritos or similar, crunch up chips, add mince, lettuce, onions, cheese, sour cream etc to bag.

fajitas, nachos or tacos (you can get frozen premade bags to just fry off!)

Curries

Are you taking an ice box?

TheIsland · 03/08/2018 23:12

Yes, two ice boxes and a small fridge. Will have a fresh supply of ice packs each day.

Great ideas, thanks everyone

For breakfast or pudding we take these pancake shakers www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/290962886 which you just need to add water to.
We've cooked this one-pot pilaf successfully www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7740/onepot-chicken-pilaf It's quick. The recipe is for one, up its easily multiplied. Swap chicken for chickpeas for the veggie.
This in another family camping favourite www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/11640/spanish-rice-and-prawn-onepot

Thanks. I thought ahout doing something like the chicken and rice one, so that’s helpful to see a recipe for it.

Pancakes just takes me to to Tesco home page but I know the stuff you mean I think.

Camping calzone - 1 wrap, tomato puree, topping and cheese on half, fold over and fry. Time consuming if you are making all of them but they could assemble and you can fry - probably just a minute to cook on both sides and can have two in there at a time.
