Where to advertise camper van?

Sadly the time has come to part with our Mazda Bongo.
Is autotrader the best bet or somewhere more 'specialist'?
Any selling advice would be gratefully received.
TIA

Loads of Facebook groups. Motorhome Madness is open to anyone, Motorhome and Campervans Uk is a closed group but both have >50,000 members and lots of For Sales on them both.

Ukcampsite also do classifieds.

Outdoor Gear Exchange on FB always has a few camper vans for sale.

I sold my folding camper via an owners group on Facebook.

OnTopOfSpaghetti · 02/08/2018 07:40

We sold ours on Gumtree.

sunshineandroses1 · 02/08/2018 07:41

Bought then sold mine on eBay. No problems whatever

Monkeypuzzle32 · 02/08/2018 07:42

We are thinking of buying one of these, or similar-would you recommend?

NicoAndTheNiners · 02/08/2018 07:46

Gumtree, eBay, fb groups.

I bought my vw on gumtree and sold it via a vw fb selling group.

Depends what you're looking for @Monkeypuzzle32 We sold our ancient Type 2 VW because as much as we loved it, it was hard work and not very comfortable for long journeys. We now have a Renault Trafic campervan conversion and absolutely love it, but it wasn't cheap. Mazda Bongos were all made in Japan and brought over here, they re more of a budget van but can give you great value for money.
Article here on what to look out for if you're thinking of buying one.

Newer VW vans are more expensive than a conversion like ours because you're paying for the VW name.
We absolutely love our campervan and the freedom it gives us to have relatively cheap holidays in the UK and Europe.

I'd avoid autotrader. When I tried to sell my car I had mostly con artists trying to buy it with their accompanying sob stories. Out of 12 enquiries, not one of them was genuine!

Monkeypuzzle32 · 02/08/2018 10:08

Thanks spaghetti we are thinking if practicality rather than style , as you say VW are costly -I’ll check out that link thanks

ChocEggNoThanks · 02/08/2018 20:14

We bought on Gumtree. I took some cash with me to give as a deposit as I liked the look of it. When we sell I'll be using gumtree.
