In the Lake District? And what type of pitch?

Fisherground in Eskdale is our all time favourite campsite. It has a decent adventure playground, small lake with rafts, shallow stream and the steam train has a stop by the campsite. The facilities are decent and the new owners are very nice.

Stompythedinosaur thanks for your suggestion. Would try it with my kids if we have some time. :)

Fisherground sounds great.
Any other NW camping recommendations?
We're willing to sacrifice facilities for a quieter site although suspect that might be wishful thinking during August school holidays!

Hollows Farm has a river for paddling in and a woodland area for the kids to play in, hollowsfarm.co.uk/?a=campsites
