Snacks!!!

So I'm all set for meals and breakfast for 5 days at a festival. But all the snacks I can think of (basically mainly biscuit based!) are v high sugar etc.

Might do rolls with ready sliced cheese / ham to make it easier but worried about rolls going stale / getting flattened!!

Anything that doesn't need much prep that won't get squashed?!

Nuts / seeds / trail mix
Oat biscuits
Cheese biscuits like Cheddars etc
Pepperami sticks
Apple or tangerine
A peeled raw carrot

I think sugary cereal bars are fine, you use a lot of energy and you hardly go to a festival as a health detox.

Rice cakes are filling and healthy.
Pitta bread won't get flattened.
This recipe for roasted chickpeas is great itdoesnttastelikechicken.com/crunchy-roasted-chickpeas/

Carrot sticks and hummus? M&S do 3 little stacker pots of hummus that could be good for this.

Satsumas are good at a festival - almost like having orange juice for a hangover Grin

Cereal bars won't hurt, but chocolate ones will probably melt.

Carrot sticks are rubbish. They dry out. Take proper carrots and chop peel and chop them as needed.

It's definitely worth setting aside around £5-8 a day for a decent healthy meal. It's not all burger vans any more, there will probably be some great options. However if you need coffee as badly as I do, a camping stove and a pan will serve you best, fuck paying £3 for a tiny polystyrene cup of nescafe!! If you take a stove you can also boil frankfurters or do just-add-water pancake mixes.

I forgot to add:
Sliced peppers last well out of the fridge and don't squish.
Packet set of beef jerky
These little bags of olives are from the ambient section of the supermarket and make good snacks www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/olives---antipasti/sainsburys-pitted-green-olives-mixed-herbs-70g
