Anyone going to the Isle of Wight festival??

Anyone going to the isle of wight festival, or have any tips?? I am going with a friend (we will be the ones in the flowery tent with the topiary and welcome mat at the front) and we have never gone before. We got the tickets as a mother's day present from the fellas, and we have been very excited ever since. We are total rookies as we have never gone to a festival before-any pointers??

No, I'm cool with the hippies . It just gets SO busy here, make sure you leave plenty of time. An accident on the M275 can shut down the whole city.

We are only about 45 mins away, and dh is pretty familiar with the roads, so should be able to avoid any major probs

I am looking forward to seeing the Fratellis, Paulo Nutini, The Feeling, Snow Patrol, Rolling Stones, Groove Armada (can't remember off hand who else is on ).

I saw the Fratellis in Nov, and they were ok. I think the only thing the lead singer guy said was "make some noise" (he was retuning his guitar and we were all staring at him!! But i heard their live recording on radio 1 this morning (from Preston) and they sounded much better. My friend has seen Kasabian, and she says they were the best she's been to. Yay!!! Can't wait!!

Hey purpleduck..............I made it. Its is me your fellow festival friend (F.F.F.) I am also going to the isle of wight festival, planning to get down to some smooth grooves & some serious dirty dancing. I went camping with my family & friends over the weekend & expeienced some truly horrid weather. Like yourself, i too am a rookie at this sort of thing, & a little unsure of what to expect. But will be taking wellies for sure. Very worried about getting things stolen so will be going for the minimalist look in our tent! Hoping to leave my parent head at home for 4 days........Hoping anyhow
