Trying to decide on a self inflating mat for camping and have settled on these two. Anybody uses/used any of these and have any opinions on which will be better?
Thanks

I'm having this exact dilemma myself at the moment! have you tried either of them out?

EveRuby2 · 19/10/2018 13:40

Hi, Did you get any feedback on this? I'm undecided also! Thanks

FriendofDorothy · 31/10/2018 20:56

Now I want to know too!

Just wondering, did anybody ever decide on a self inflating mat? I feel almost a bit of a fraud here, as my kids are of the furry variety, but I hope that doesn't make a difference? I love them regardless

Did anybody decide on which self inflating mat to use? I too am having this exact dilemma. Wondering whether to invest or whether to stick with my airbed and put some sort of a mattress topper on it? The only issue I really have is feeling cold at night.

We have the Dreamboats and I can highly recommend them. They're so comfy that we also use them at home for visitors

Thank you! Just wondering, how do you store yours when not in use? I read the other day that they are best stored flat with the valves open so as to prevent mould inside them, but there's no way I have room to store it like that . .

2cupsofcoffee · 15/06/2019 20:21

We store them rolled up; like you, we don't have the space to store them opened. They still inflate fine though. If you find they're a bit slow to inflate, you could use a battery operated pump to inflate them quicker. I've done that with them a few times when we arrived at campsites late in the evening

KristalTips74 · 16/06/2019 08:22

Thanks again 2cupsofcoffee! Sorry for all the questions - is it the double size you have? If so, how big are they when they are rolled up?

2cupsofcoffee · 16/06/2019 23:12

We have 2 singles. I think you get a better night's sleep that way! And I'd imagine the doubles are very hard to roll up

FriendofDorothy · 19/06/2019 23:00

We have bought a a double Shanri-la - can't wait to use is properly.

Noloudnoises · 28/07/2019 13:49

I have just bought two singles (size ‘grande’) of the Shangri-La 15cm. Oh god they were amazing in the shop.... so fingers crossed.

Noloudnoises · 02/09/2019 14:55

Just to give an update if people are ever searching for info before posting. The Vango shangri-la 15 was AMAZING! Genuinely very comfortable. Didn't feel like we were camping at all and I'm nog a fan of roughing it. Downside is they're quite big but I suctioned it with the hoover at home and it has gone down quite a lot. Plan to get a deflating pump for the next trip to help with packing the car.
