gas cannisters for Lidl camping light

I've just bought a couple of butane gas camping lights from Lidl .

They recommend Rothenberger Industrial Super gas C200 cannisters .
These don't look easily available ( from a quick google ) and I'm wondering if there are equivalents ?

Does anyone know ? I've used a Tilly lamp but no experience of gas cylinders and I'm a bit nervous .

bumping ,popped into Decathalon and no gas 200 cylinders .

don't tell me I've bought a pup from my dearly loved Lidls .I really can't afford for these to be a waste of money .

I bought a couple of these from Lidl and they were also selling the canisters that went with it for 1.99.

No way ! Not in my branch or at least not when I bought the lamps .

Is there a missed a bargain emoticon ?

The larger branch near us is still selling them apparently - dh picked up another couple last week. I would offer to get you some but think posting gas canisters might give the local post office a heart stopping moment. Might be worth asking in your branch where they've got some in stock, there might be a larger branch nearby that's still got them.

you can buy c500 canisters from Amazon.

Ifailed · 21/05/2018 08:44

ah, sorry I meant c200! (you can get c500 has well!)

@ADrablittleCrab there seems to be a difficulty in getting piercable cannisters ,which I think is what the C200 cannisters are .Maybe being replaced by C206 with a different connection .

Does the Lidl lamp use a piercable cannister ?

Oh ,looks like the C206 has replaced the C200

and are same as the Rothenberger ones .

Is there a cheaper alternative ???

The canisters are packed away now in the garage but I'm pretty sure they're pierce ones - certainly no valve or anything. I think they are the same as these www.mytoolshed.co.uk/sievert-butane-propane-gas-cartridge-190g.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3InYBRCLARIsAG6bfMTgJX8kpWZue5N60LbKSmCd5BQYnBLJOfC5z1Nd_iUONYVxRLtX-uQaAhCqEALw_wcB

Oh how kind of you littlecrab to find these alternative and brilliantly priced cannisters for me !

And now I'm struggling with singeing the mantle .Can't singe it equally ,not all turning white .And then when I light I get a hole . Sob .
