We're all set, but am now worrying about a) bucketing rain b) a very hot summer and struggling to keep DS out of the sun.

You'll be fine - the climate isn't that much different to Cornwall - would you camp there?

get an all in one rainsuit and an all in one sunsuit and you'll have covered all eventualities

and.... breathe

I wan't brave enough but sister did with both hers when they were babies.
