Camping alone with kids

Any mums camped alone with kids? (tent as opposed to caravan) Thinking ahead to the summer holidays when my husband will still be working but I could take the kids camping on my own. I have a few niggly concerns about safety though, as I think I might feel a bit vulnerable on our own at night. If any of you have done it, have you any tips or advice?

Yup husband doesn't enjoy camping so I will take kids by myself for weekends. Inflatable tents are your friend, easy to put up with one person in less than 15minutes. Kids have a blast. Going without husband cheaper and easier to stuff more in car!

Lone parent, been camping with DD since she was 3.

I used to take a bucket and a potty for late night (she and I arent overnight wee-ers so it was OK).

Book a site where you can wash up and see the play area or field.

Start with short trips so there is no need to shower. When you get more confident and know how your DC are going to behave/get older then think about showering Grin Or take them with you when you shower at a site where there is a family shower room
