Just brought our first tent and very very excited!
It's a Gelert Alaska 8 - is that a big one as I think it's 7 metres and one site I phoned only had 8 metre pitches and I would have to fit car on it too!
Can anyone recommend a good site with a pool and evening entertainment in the Dorset area?
Don't want to go too far from home on first camp.
Hoping to get something for May half term

Thanks Pedro it looks lovely. Only thing tho' they charge £30 for a swim pass - is that a liberty ? It's for 7 swims but we're only going away for 3 nights and will prob only use once or twice.

I've been to the camping shop there, looks good as far as I can tell. Loads to do in the surrounding area eg Moors Valley Country Park, Honeybrook Farm, Alice in Wonderland or whatever it's called now, beaches as Sandbank, crab fishing at Mudeford & boat to Hengistbury Head plus loads more.

Thanks Chocolateteapot I'll look those places up.

We're going to one called Sandford Park, its part of the Weststarholidays holiday company and its situated near Wareham, Dorset. Its about 1/2 hour drive to Poole and Bournemouth and about 20 mins to Swanage.

If you take a look on their website: www.weststarholidays.co.uk, they have pools, childrens clubs, entertainment, laundry, shop and half-board, all at reasonable prices. They also have mobile homes available to book.

Whereabouts were you looking at going in Dorset?
