What's your budget? and do you prefer a tunnel design or a whopping great high domed sort?

ziopin · 30/04/2007 13:59

Budget - up to £400.00

Not sure what type to choose, never been camping before!!

here Only has 2 bedrooms but looks really big.

even bigger and this one has 3 bedrooms.

Well in that case I'd go for a tunnel tent as they are much more straightforward to put up, something like a Gelert Alaska 8 is ideal.

Or Argos do a cheap 8 man (you need at least an 8 man for 6 people) if you think you might not like camping - you are camping in Europe aren't you?

Do you want a sewn in groundsheet or do you think you'll like a bit of fresh air with your camping?

Lucycat · 30/04/2007 14:11

This is the Argos one

Thanks so very much. Like the look of both of them. xx

we are looking into getting one of these tents
but we tried this one out today

it is very well made tent that got a few thing thrown in too.

The website is Tog 24 (we tried it out at Cheshire Oaks shopping complex plus the shop is there too)

Good budget!!!!

Ok I canr ecoomend from owning the Ontario 6 or *, with that budget i would buy the canopy also- wehave it (and footprint,a nd carpet although carpet only available from outdoodr megastore- about £300 in totality).

Or if you want something that'll keep you cool in summer and warm in wnter, the same design in polycotton is called the Khyam Indiana.

Dont know about the Indiana, our Ontario has a HH of 5000- extremely waterprrof LOL!

here

I an personally recommned (two trips already thsi year LOL- got back a few hours ago).

there are four rooms, the 'big' room you see on the plan ahs a divider so you can use as one or two. We use as two for the boys, we have a single and leave the final one down to create a storage area for all the 'stuff' so we have the maina rea clear.
