We bought one last year in Argos - about as cheap as you can get. (Tho' - it did leak on DS1 - was a howling gale and thunderstorm - he just slept thru' it & brightly reasoned that it meant he should not shower the next morning.... - pls god give me DD's next....)

MrsWho · 22/04/2007 21:59

LOL my dd2 would be like that though

Didn't think of Argos will check it out, any other suggestions?

Why not post a "wanted" on Freecyle? If you haven't come across this scheme - it's a group you sign up to which aims to avoid stuff getting into landfill needlessly - you advertise stuff you want to clear out, or stuff you need - just a one-line e-mail will do, and the only real rules are - no money or "payment" of any kind, and the taker collects. I have seen tents on our Freecycle so you may be lucky - and if not it won't cost you anything at least. (Although you may get a LOT of e-mails about other stuff once you are a member).

found this one would anything else be needed?
the idea is 3 teenagers in a tent and all tents to be the same so one can be demo and then they can copy to put the rest up.

I am on freecyle but ours is pretty crap everyone wants laptops and gives away cardboard boxes
The best thing is if all the kids tents are the same too.Staff ones won't matter as much.

Cybercheckout very reasonable and may even do you a deal. Currently offering £10 off on orders over £30 if paid through Google checkout.

Afterthought.
You could do a few orders and save £10 more than once maybe? Would have to check terms and conditions, but if done by different people that may work.

Thanks will have a look

The tesco ones are really cheap. It says out of stock but it depends how soon you want them I suppose.

They might leak like a sieve but you can console yourself that it all adds to the adventure .

MrsWho · 23/04/2007 19:51

Well it says easy to assemble which would be useful!
Don't know how much money we will get , need at least 4 for the kids but really should buy staff ones too rather than using everyones own.

Our Freecycle is Bath, which is pretty good, and had a 3-man tent on offer tonight in supposedly good condition. Don't know if Bath is anywhere near you anyhow, but you could try a different locality on Freecycle if you are prepared to travel. Sorry to hear your Freecycle isn't any good.

I am on Kendal on the Lakes as well and they do give good stuff away its just usually too far rto travel (1 hour ish to Kendal)

what a pity!
Ebay any good?

MrsWho · 25/04/2007 20:11

We need at least 4 and pref all the same so ebay wont be the best place for that.
Argos looks a possibility will have to see how much funding we will get

e-bay tents can be v dodgy unless they are a known 'brand'
