yes it is Little - and I disapprove entirely of such as discriminatory comment

PavlovtheCat · 15/04/2007 22:45

PMSL - only joking I find it quite a cute little name actually! i am a grockle myself, and I find it endearing!

PavlovtheCat · 15/04/2007 22:46

I do however, sound a little like a born and bred local from time to time, much to my DPs dismay!

PavlovtheCat · 15/04/2007 22:47

I was going to suggest Totnes actually but not sure it is too neutral to where you want to go, but if you dont mind driving, Totnes, is fab!

PavlovtheCat · 15/04/2007 22:48

Tintagel - King Arthur land, absolutely. I lurve Tintagel!

PavlovtheCat · 15/04/2007 22:49

King Arthur's castle is in Tintagel.

There are several low-key campsites along the A road from Okehampton to Tavistock, very good for getting straight onto Dartmoor if you want moor and not too many facilities. One is by a pub (which might do morning coffee). I don't know who runs them but we went past them the other day and they looked OK.

Have a look at Pennance Mill Farm campsite, Maenporth, Falmouth. I'd do you a link but they don't work when I do them. It's Cornwall, not Devon, but it's quiet and lovely and near the beach and an as an added bonus the proprietor's children are so vile that it makes you feel really good about your own!

PeachyChocolateEClair · 17/04/2007 18:42

If you want devon e-mail riverford, they'll point you in the right direction.

or

Beetrootccio · 17/04/2007 18:43

Whaty about river dart coutnry club

PeachyChocolateEClair · 17/04/2007 18:44

have a gander 'ere , if you go on the link then call them directly they'll take non-members too, its only the 'secret smallies' that don't.

Hi
I live in Tavistock and I know of this campsite on the outskirts of town.
www.higherlongford.co.uk/
My sister stays there when she comes to visit. Its got good facilities but I would say some of their tent pitches are a bit on the small side so mention it if you want to go their and you have a really big tent.
