We just got this £199 and a free windbreak thrown in - anyone got one? Hoping we can spend a week in it - there are only four of us so we went for space . Hoping it will stand up to stormy(ish) weather - our little Milletts one was fantastic in bad weather, but too small.

not got one of those but looks good. we are going to get a khyam kansas 8 when we have saved enough pennies. Looks very similair but it is sewn in ground sheet.

Ours has sewn in groundsheet. Is that what you meant?

oh so it has just reread...think it is the same tent but different name

brandnewhelsy · 06/04/2007 22:43

DH claims it's the same tent. We now need to make sure we've enough cooking equipment so that we can camp for a week without living on take-aways and beans . I WANT TO GO CAMPING! NOW!

We got ours from Stafford Outdoor Leisure and it was at a tent exhibition so don't know if they do the windbreak on the website.

Right, that Khyam Ontario looks exactly the sort of thing I need for my camping trip in August - me and three under 5s in a tent for 10 days. But - can I hire this kind of tent anywhere? I really don't want to buy it, as I won't be using it again. Or should I buy it and then re-sell it?

Or do any of you lovely MNers have such a tent that I could hire (for proper cash, obviously!!)

Troutpout · 07/04/2007 17:57

ooh i like it

satine · 07/04/2007 20:07

Any of you camping addicts online now? Please?
Or I'll have to start a whole new thread and Cod will be cross...

bonkerz · 07/04/2007 20:23

Oh I know somreset camping very well- actually me and Dh met working next door LOL!

Looks llike a good tent, Khyam is a good name. We ahd a vis a vis for a bit, was fine.

Satine- not sure about tent hire (have a look on camping threads- there was a list there). We'd need to know wher you are beforewe could arrange anyone to lend perhaps?

However, first time we went camping we bought a vis a vis from Argos- something like this and you know what? It was fine. Not all singing all dancing like our Tahoma perhaps, but more than adequate- helped convinced anti-tent Dh to become a confirmed addict anyhow!

How about this ? the ratings for this tent are extremely good- no settling for anything but the best with this- and the price, well if a hire charges insurance I can't see would be less in reality? And you could always flog after.
