Cleaning ash out of a frontier stove.

Sorry if this is a very stupid post.

We're off camping in our bell tent next week and going to take the plunge and fit out frontier stove.

I'm just trying to work out the logistics of cleaning the ash out of the stove and what we need to take. Dp thinks that taking an ash bucket and little shovel is ott but I think they might be useful.

Can anyone tell me how they manage it?

We don't empty it after every use, I am not sure but I think ours might be bigger than a frontier stove which might affect how often you do it here.

I am not sure how yours burns but ours has such an efficient burn that there is very little ash and as it is only wood ash we just relight it the next evening with the ash in there.

We do take a shovel and have emptied it on longer trips (like a three week multi site affair) as it comes in a wooden case we have been known to bring it home and clean it out at home.

Bucket not really necessary if you are short of room as you will only do it when it is completely cold anyway so can just shovel it into a rubbish bag if the site doesn't have anywhere else for it.

Thanks, that makes sense. Thanks for the reply! I'll go for a shovel but no bucket then.
