Please help me find this campsite in Northumberland!

So, a few years ago I went camping in Northumberland - we didn't book, just drove along the coast until we found somewhere nice. I would really love to go back but despite extensive googling I can't seem to find the campsite online anywhere!

What I remember:

-Was somewhere near Seahouses/Bamburgh
-Was quite a small basic site, no shop or anything as far as I can remember, just a field for tents and maybe a couple of caravans
-Was right on the beach - you literally just had to walk over a small dune and there you were
-They had horses - you could go for rides on the beach
-The beach had military signs up on it - you could walk on it etc but I think they sometimes used it for testing or something?

If anyone has any ideas please let me know! I've found lots of sites in the area but none of them look the same. Of course I could just be remembering it all wrong Confused

I know the one you mean, can't remember it's name but went there a few times. If it's the one I am thinking of, it closed a few years ago. Sad

The one I thinking of was called Beachcomber.

Oh no Sad

It was probably about 6 or 7 years ago at least that I was there so I was wondering if it had closed.

So sad! The other campsites in the area don't look nearly as nice and I loved the riding.

Wasn't near Boulmer was it?

BikeRunSki · 15/08/2017 11:53

Up that way

Dunstall Hill or Beadnell bay?

lovelyupnorth · 15/08/2017 12:07

was going beadnell bay -

stayed at warren mill as well but bit more developed

It was definitely Beachcomber, have checked Sad

It closed in 2012 apparently so no wonder I couldn't find it! I am now unreasonably upset about this, always dreamed of going back there and it just never happened.

Right, so - does anyone else know any small, basic campsites anywhere else near the sea, with a stables attached? Or even just a really nice, quiet campsite in that area where you can have fires?
