Glamping in October for non-campers?

Is glamping in October a bad idea? It's just me a 2 DDs (age 5 & 7). We're not really outdoorsy and don't like being cold but I think it would be an adventure. Can anyone recommend somewhere within 3 hours drive of Leeds and with good facilities.

Fine if you get a yurt or tipi with a log stove in it and take hot water bottles. It can be a lot of fun so long as you prepare. Sorry i don't know any spots in that area.

In October half term? Which is quite late this year, and you will be quite far North...

My reservations are that you haven't done it before. The evenings will be long, getting dark early, and you might find it hard to keep a stove burning all night.

I would do it but I am outdoorsy, a weatherbeaten camper, and don't feel tne cold.

In your shoes I would wait til the May / June half term.

Look at 4 Winds Lakeland Tipis. Haven't used it myself but know people who have , and who go back for more. Sorry , forgotten how to link.

Thanks for replying. I'm looking at the 5/6/7 October as we have some extra holidays for the Jewish festivals and maybe looking at Norfolk though the Lake District looks good as well.
