...as in the Ines listed within the 'Villages plus beaux de France' website.

There are hundreds, but I want to head towards 'live' villages and towns (with small craft shops and cafes etc) and not those that are without amenities (I love those too but DD's are less inclined).

Aubetterre-Sur-Drone is one of my fav's but we've been there loads. We Want to start discovering more so all suggestions greatly appreciated!

In the Dordogne region - St Leon sur Le vezere is v cute and has gorgeous cafe by river, down stream Limeuil has lots of crafty shops, cafe and gardens on confluence of vezere river and dordogne. There is another on road to Bergerac from there but I forget the name - sorry. Bit further south loved 'puy l'eveque' near cahors and several other 'bastide' towns nearby...

Amboise in the Loire is lovely. The municipal campsite is cheap but great, and walkable to the small Town which has a Chateux, many restaurants and shops, Leonardo da Vinci museum/house (and a Carrefour Cite to stock up,on supplies)
