Tent for 3 air beds, short trips, standing, manageable alone

Hi,
After a very successful trip me and the two children we plan to go again. This time I used my Eurohike Cairns 4 and it was great but I really did need a 2nd room to store stuff in and shelter from wet weather.

So I'm after a tent that is a similar width (300mm) and fits 3 of us on air beds but a bit longer. I need to be able to carry pitch and pack it with minimal help from 7 & 9 year olds. Unlikely to camp for more than a couple of days in it but we did struggle with the very small size of the Cairns 4 dome in the very wet weather. (I could not believe how dry we stayed in this £50 tent!!)

Hoping to get an end of season bargain!

Hi, I'd suggest you keep an eye on tents being sold locally on eBay or gumtree, if of course you don't mind second hand! We just purchased a sunncamp 600 (probably too big for you) but little used, came with carpet, groundsheet and separate canopy for £56... tried it and no leaks!
I'd look at small tunnel tents which will give you a small living area and possibly porch.
I am also really impressed with the separate canopy options as it provides more room.
I think if you purchase anything in store at millets or blacks you get at 20% off voucher which can also be used on sale items.

Thx. I'd be happy to buy new and spend up to £300 or so. Most comfortable up to £200!

We have a Gobi elite 4 man which sounds like it would suit you. I'm not sure if it's still available but we got it from Go Outdoors, with groundsheet and carpet for about £250 new I think.

Sadly it doesn't seem to be but it does look like the sort of thing

Bit worried about strength of tunnel tent

This is our lovely vango Icarus 500 from go outdoors, around £200 (usually 350-400 full retail price) and has just the right size inner bit so you can stand up and the bedroom can be separated with a curtain... takes 12 mins to pitch

The vango is nice!

I also stumbled upon the Kampa Brean 4 but it is quite expensive - I wonder if they reduce prices ever?

berghaus air 4 - its inflatable so no faffing with poles. goes up and down really quickly. can usually get them for about £350, though appreciate that's a bit over your budget

We just got a second weekend tent, Quechua Arpenaz family 4.1. Bargain at £80 quid. Not sure it'd hold up in a roaring gale but seems pretty decent.

Easy to put up with just a bit of holding by kids while you peg. Packs really small.

Some great ideas, I'm also very conscious about the weight aspect as obviously i need to be able to get it in and out of the car myself. The Kampa Hayling 4 is quite a good price in some sales but worried about the weight of it. The Vangos are looking v.good : lots of different names seem to be similar designs depending on where they are sold.

What about Outwell Nevada 4?
