You just have to adjust your mindset, when we camp on our bikes we carry everything on our racks.
Our weekend camping kit looks like this (plus tent, bags and pads). Everything we need is in that box, incl bog in a bag
, three little tables, three candle lanterns plus two battery lanterns, plates, bowls, trangia, utensils, cups, sit mats and three folding chairs, two coffee makers because DH likes expresso and I prefer a cafetière (very important), etc., etc.. We can fit three, plus everything in a two door, four seater hatchback.
Then we have the other extreme - a very full car, and, if we take the dog, bikes and the canoe we take a trailer.
Different camping styles = great excuse for buying gear (at least DH sees it that way).
