Camping with a 2yr old & 6 yr old this weekend. What's your 1 piece of advice, top tip or item that I need to know about?

When your son comes out of the house carrying a duvet, do not assume it is the "extra duvet" and tell him you don't have room in the car for it as you will discover on reaching your campsite that it is the ONLY duvet. You will spend a night freezing and then have to drive to Carrick-On-Shannon to buy a double sleeping bag.

Potty with size 5 nappy to line it with, for the kids to use in the middle of the night also have toilet paper, disinfectant wipes and hand gel. Let them use the lined potty and then put the nappy in a nappy sack wipe round the potty with disinfectant wipes, hand gel for you, job done without the kids standing up half asleep and knocking the potty contents everywhere.

Also agree with forget bedtime!

Take some glowsticks, you can use them inside the tent (clipped round poles) as a gentle nightlight and outside the tent so you can spot it on your way back from the toilet block after dark. I buy them in bulk from Amazon.
