Ironing while camping

We're off tomorrow and I don't have time to can't be bothered to iron everything before we go.

We won't have EHU but there is a laundry room. In your experience is there usually an iron in there?

Thanks Milli I'll be ironing with impunity if your info's correct. Those creases down the front of my jeans will be SHARPWink

Surely the irons at campsites are for getting the damp off your clothes before you slowly rot and not for straightening?

Bit like having a three course meal with wine accompaniment whilst camping.

If you count olives and bananas and chocolate in foil, a 3 course meal with wine accompaniment is a fairly regular occurrence for us!

I've seen quite a few irons on camping sites- not used a huge deal but as Milliways says by people using a caravan/tent as value accommodation for parties/weddings.

And I have ironed once when camping- it was a welcome retreat from my 3 year old and 10month old... that was the only camp where DH and I practically begged each other to bagsie the washing up!

The last campsite we went to had one!

I've never tried but you can usually borrow an iron from the reception on a French campsite.

I remember a fabulous laundry room at a campground in Canada. It had sofas and a fully-stocked bookshelf, I don't recall looking for an iron though.

I would go with the 30 mins in a tumble drier and fold nicely method, OP.

Read this days ago and it's only just occurred to me to suggest ringing the campsite and asking.

Chambourcy probably there by now, hope she comes back to let us know.

We did accidentally end up in a posh restaurant on a camping trip many moons ago, it might have been useful to have had an iron on that occasion, although we didn't realise how posh till we got there and the car park was all Ferraris and Porsches and the staff were lined up to greet us on arrival.
