I am lucky enough?/mad enough?/brave enough? to be heading off for a couple of days camping over Easter. I've bought some aluminium mats to put under our airbeds (metallic one side & foam the other) as I was told this would provide us with a little extra warmth. However, my dilemma is...do we lay them metallic side up to reflect the body heat back up OR metallic side down to repel the cold?? It may sound completely daft but the more I think about it the more uncertain I am! Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you

...fingers crossed for some blue skies please. And no sniggering when you see the forecast for that week either...I'm committed and I can wait no longer. I need my alfresco bailey's coffee and quorn sausage sandwich fix

CookieBear, DS is four weeks, so we're hoping to give it a go in late summer / early autumn. We often go to Normans Bay site in Pevensey, East Sussex, 'cause it's right by the beach and nice facilities etc, so think we'll try there first.

Our very favourite site is in the Lakes, but it takes much longer to get to and is more basic, so think we might have to leave it a year or two before taking him up there.
