I want a polycotton tent

I really like the feel of canvas. But this year all the polycotton tents seem to be inflatable. I don't want inflatable! Can this be right? I don't really want a belltent either, have privacy-preferring preteen. Are there any other options?

Outwell bear lake or wolf lake?

We have an old Cabanon, maybe look for second hand as ours was? Lovely airy canvas with seperate sleeping areas. Quite heavy though!

Those outwells are polyester I'm afraid. I think you're right awishes, ebay is the way.

The Outwells should come in a polycotton variant as well (the Wolf Lakes do/did).

Dutch Pyramid tents are also an option, see ESVO for examples or on Facebook look at Dutch Tents For Sale as he normally has some cracking 2nd hand options

There's a nice cabanon pyramid 4 tent on ukcampsite that I don't want for myself at all could be good?

The Eldorado pyramid from Obelink? And add their canvas tarp out front to extend the living space?

Oooh, I have just looked at the site ProfPoop mentioned and seen the Cabanon Pyramid tent. Very nice! There is a second hand Eldorado, too.

Oh I love that eldorado. As far as I can see outwell wolf lake etc have all gone air.
Any drawbacks to pyramides? Only 3 of us, one 11 y o.

It's easy to put up and looks beautiful but has more functional space than a bell
Ours is a second hand Dutch tent. There are 2 guys I've come across who sell them via FB

No drawbacks at all, we have had a pyramid since DD was born, now 11. We don't use our inner tent, just enjoy the huge indoor space.

Must add that I had an Eldorado as my first weekend pyramid a lot of years ago. When I had one there wasn't SIG in the main tent area, I am not sure if there is now. It was a really good tent for the ££.

The canvas wasn't overly thick and the zips and stitching not as good as the more expensive tents we have got, but there is a reason for that. We spent 10 x more on one of our current tents.

I sold it on to someone who I know is still using it nearly ten years on.

The Eldorado still does not have a full SIG in tne living area, but it does in the sleeping compartment.

The Obelink Alaska had a SIG but they have just discontinued them

I bought it from Dave at Dutch tents for sale. Another guy Ab sells on the pyramid tent group. Both seem good to deal with

My elder ado was the same then. Plenty of room for three in the sleeping compartment with the centre thing tied back. Tight squeeze for four sims.

Robes do a poly cotton range. They are not quite as heavy as full on canvas and sunny take up as much space but have all the benefits. We have a robes polycotton tunnel tent, 10 yrs on its still fab. Look at the vista 600 maybe?

I bought another tent recently , from Esvo. Good tent comparable with cabanon quality.

We have an Outwell Bearlake 6 and it is polycotton, definitely not polyester. I would recommend it every time.

I absolutely love it. Yes it is heavy and a pain to dry at home but it is cool in the heat and warm in the cold and so far has stood up to all weathers.

Setting up is easy after a few practices and although much easier with 2 I can manage on my own.

Love our Robens vista 600. Great in hot weather, and not stupidly heavy. We've flown EasyJet with it! Quickt to put up with two, but not that easy to put up for one person and definitely not a 6p tent. Reasonable for 4 with smallish kids.

We've just bought a second hand outwell trout lake polycotton and it's wonderful, lovely being back under a canvas tent knowing it's waterproof, I'd recommend it!
