Ile de Re this year...where next year? Recs please

Can't decide where to go for a week's holiday next summer.

We had a fab time in mobile home on a camp site in Ile de Re - was perfect. Thinking of Spain or Italy. Any suggestions for small, nice campsites in interesting areas - with towns and beaches where we can do the same?

Hi Accrete3 - I don't have any suggestions for you but would be interested to hear about where you went on ile de Re and what time of year. We want to go in July or August and have a tent. I'm dithering because of possible crowds and expense. Please change my mind!

We loved Ile de Re. Stayed at La Grainitiere...a small campsite which is lovely. We had mobile home there but the camping looks good. We went firt week of August, but friends go throughout August, and keep going back as they love it. We were near La Flotte which is lovely. There's lots of nice beaches to get to - either by bike if you're adventurous, and everyone does cycle - or car. Weather wasn't too hot. All in all. Great place.
