That's it really, we are new to camping, our first time was great we had bbq and i warmed up a pie, but want more ideas so I can keep a spreadsheet use them later.

We have a safari chef cadac and a one ring stove. Also a huge cool box which keeps things cold for a few days. We only plan on using the tent at for a few days at a time any way and are never too far from shops...

I always make a curry or chilli to take with us and heat up on our first night - served with breads/tortilla wraps/tortilla chips. We're away this coming weekend, I've frozen a chickpea curry and will do chicken tikka skewers on the bbq and we will have it with pitta bread and mango chutney (and cold beer of course).

I make a mix of american pancake batter for the first morning, it separates overnight but give it a stir and it's fine, I make those on the cadac, it's perfect because it's big enough to make quite a few at once and we have those with loads of berries and maple syrup.

We make all kinds on our cadac, paella or stir fry is usually quick and easy, buy the bags of frozen paella or ready made stir fry mix from the nearest supermarket and add some prawns.

I believe you can roast a chicken on the cadac but i've not tried it yet. Tbh it's easier to buy a ready cooked one if you're near some shops.

Tacos are great
Freeze a curry or casserole in ziplock bags to defrost and eat the first couple of nights
Pasta with a stir through pasta sauce is yum too

I do a tuna pasta for the last night using tins so it doesn't go bad. Tin tuna, dried pasta, tin chopped tomatoes, instant cheese sauce (yuck normally but mixed in with everything else it isn't so bad), tin of sweetcorn.

Some good ideas. Silly question about the cadac but is it OK to bring inside the tent after use ? Obviously disconnect the gas

Yes we keep ours in our caravan awning and occasionally cook in there if it's raining.

We just treat it exactly the same as cooking on gas hob at home. It's nice to cook outside but if needs be we cook in the awning, it's very sturdy so unlikely to fall over, though obviously we don't leave it unattended.

We eat a lot of pasta and cooked breakfast type food. Camping is the only time I ever buy those tins of baked beans with sausages!

It's the fumes that are dangerous and what kills people in their sleep. This is why it is not safe to put inside the tent I believe

Fajita kits are great. At home I make my own salsa and guacamole buy we use the squeezy ones when camping. I also do tuna pasta but we use Dolmio!

We bring our griddle pan and cook on our two ring gas stove. Our new favourite is wraps of all sorts, usually king prawns and salad with sweet chilli sauce. Very quick and filling!
