is there such thing as a 6 person tent that won't cost £££

I'm looking at buying a tent so we can have a few impromptu weekends away. We have 4 children. Is there a 6 person tent that's not going to cost a bomb?

Ebay. We got a 6 person tent (sleeping in 3 separate pods) for under £100, barely used. It's been great.

Look on ebay or gumtree. Gelert do a good one.

I really think its a case of you get what you pay for. Make sure you get a tent with a high hydrostatic head ("HH") as these are more waterproof.
If I was tent buying with a limited budget, I would buy a quality brand (Outwell, Vango, Cabanon etc) second hand rather than a lower-quality new tent

Slightly more but we have this and it's great. Love the layout and it's reasonably easy to pitch (I've done it on my own but it wasn't ideal).

Good HH and stood up to torrential rain last year.

Just realised you have 4 children. You might want to think about an 8 man.

For example, the decathlon 6 man is really fairly small, but the gelert one I linked to is pretty generous. The 8 man version is much the same just about a foot wider. Perfect for 6 people.

oh yes agree with MissWimpy if there are 6 of you you need an 8 man tent, unless you are only camping for one night and like each other a lot!! :)

People I know with large families have pod tents - but there are fewer of those around now. Like the Outwell Hartland. Else the go outdoors kalahari 8 might be a good one?
