Camping in Cornwall, 28 weeks pregnant

DH and I are heading down to Cornwall for a week at the end of this month. We both like camping and have all the kit (importantly a comfy blow up mattress and lovely double sleeping bag!). We were going to spend a couple of days camping near Lands End and a few camping near Padstow (though this can be changed if anyone has any better ideas!). Any good campsite recommendations? Hot showers essential!

Just wondering if anyone has any tips for me going camping when (just) into the third trimester? I will take my pregnancy notes and a hospital bag and leave in the car just in case. DH has been informed that if the weather is really bad, we're booking into a B&B - I like camping, but will not be martyring myself!

Also, any advice on what to do while we are there? I want to make the most of being childfree before baby arrives! I'm not particularly big yet, and enjoy walking, cycling, swimming etc. We're National Trust members if anyone could recommend anywhere worth visiting.

Treen is a beautiful campsite with lovely walks. Only thing that might be tricky (depending on your mobility) is that it's a steep climb down to the (beautiful) beach - as in you rock climb the last 5/6metres. My friend managed it at 30 wks while carrying toddler on her back, but she is hardcore.

There's some great National trust stuff in Cornwall. Heligan is lovely.

Enjoy! Just enjoy having time as a couple, at your own pace.

Lanhydrock and castle Drogo are both fantastic to visit!
Personally I found camping very comfy when pregnant, obviously couldn't bend to do tent pegs at 24 weeks but was much warmer than usual thanks to baby keeping me warm! Gentle walking is fine depending on your current fitness, I was cycling until about 24 weeks and camping the same but by then it was late Aug and didn't camp until June next year when baby was 5 months. Enjoy it!

I went camping at 6 months as was fine! Asked to be close to toilet block and excused from unpacking the heavy stuff from the car, but otherwise just as normal.

Although I would have appreciated a firmer camping chair. My normal typical camping chair with big low seat was a nightmare to get up from. A directors style chair would have been much more practical.

Dinham Farm is lovely near Wadebridge not too far from padstow. Would really recommend Rojanos for food, beautiful Italian and reasonable owned by Paul Ainsworth. You could always walk the camel trail if you didn't want to cycle it's very flat.
Seconded for Treen it's gorgeous and within walking distance of the minack if there is anything you fancy watching when you are down. You can't book at Treen though. National Trust there are lots.. St Michaels mount is NT if you head Pz way and haven't been (closed on Saturdays though) lanhydrock near Bodmin is also well worth a visit.
Have a lovely trip we are going away in our van when I will be 32 weeks but closer to home.

Trevedra Farm is a lovely site near Sennen Cove, right on coastal path so walkable to Lands End. It has a great loo/shower block and a cafe.

Do visit the minnack theatre!

Mother Iveys bay is the only site we have stayed on near Padstow, expensive but beautiful, again with amazing Coastal walks.

MrsRolly Dinham Farm looks lovely - have just sent them an email to book to stay for two nights - is the pool good? The facilities there look a bit nicer than the campsites we normally book into! I'm still cycling at the moment (albeit, a little slower than usual), so cycling the camel trail sounds great. On yours and Milliways advice, I've also booked some tickets for the Minnack theatre, and really looking forward to that (will def pack warm waterproofs for sitting through it!).

Quod and Gruber I haven't visited Heligan, Lanhydrock or Castle Drogo. All on the list! (DH hates it when I organise holidays, as it always involves us driving huge amounts to fit in all the sights I want to see!).
