Camping stuff coming up in Lidl

On the 21st there's a tent, camping cupboard, electric cool box, sleeping bags, lantern, mats and lots of other stuff but no Sim.

On the 28th there's the really good insulated picnic blankets, the folding table with stools inside, fairy lights and gazebo. Still no Sim.

What's a Sim?

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/04/2016 07:03

Self inflating mattress

Yellowiceytek · 21/04/2016 10:35

Does anyone know what the quality is like please?

Lanark2 · 21/04/2016 10:42

There's another shop.

Callmecordelia · 21/04/2016 10:53

I have the table and stools and picnic rugs. I've been really happy with them.

Lanark - I'm sure everyone is aware there are other shops, but as Lidl only sells camping stuff occasionally I thought it wouldn't be terrible to start this thread? Hmm

Call me thanks for the heads up. I for one am grateful as we're planning on taking the dc camping for the first time this summer. We currently have no equipment at all, so want to buy the basics as cheaply as possible in case it is all a disaster!

Callmecordelia · 21/04/2016 11:06

Just - keep an eye out for the Sims. They'll be sold in a bit, and are well worth it.

Remember you can use stuff from home. I camp with my duvet and lots of fleece blankets. I use the Lidl picnic rugs under where we sleep as an extra layer of insulation.

Thanks for the heads up - I might be interested in the cupboard.

Isn't it Aldi that does the great SIMS? Ours are Aldi.

Callmecordelia · 21/04/2016 15:14

I think the Lidl ones were slightly better last year - but they're probably much of a muchness from the same Chinese factory. Smile

We have both Aldi and Lidl and they are similar but both good. Has anyone got the coolbox?

QueenOfAllBiscuitsandMuffins · 21/04/2016 18:47

I was in Lidl today and no camping stuff I could see.

QueenOfAllBiscuitsandMuffins · 21/04/2016 18:48

This stuff starts on Monday www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?id=827

Callmecordelia · 21/04/2016 18:56

Sorry, I looked at the wrong date in the app! It is the 25th for the first lot. Blush

Our camping loo was a Lidl special - has done several years of sterling service!

blackteaplease · 21/04/2016 19:06

Does anyone know if the lights are battery powered? I can't tell from the website.

NettleTea · 21/04/2016 20:59

oooh gazebo. I need those

NettleTea · 21/04/2016 21:04

anyone know if there is much difference between the green Alsi gazebo and the Lidl one - you can order the aldi one for pick up

NettleTea · 21/04/2016 21:10

also has anyone used that 1200W lidl generator?

Ditsy79 · 22/04/2016 14:10

Would the electric coolbox be worth getting?

profpoopsnagle · 22/04/2016 15:08

I got an electric coolbox from Aldi a few years ago which has worked very well. Lidl normally sell 2 sorts over the summer, this type which has a mains plug and a secnd which just has 12v.

We use the large food container as a kitchen box. Top layer has cutlery, cooking utensils and everything else you can ever imagine (mini screwdriver set from a Christmas cracker) and the bottom does foil, cling film, teatowels etc. On site, we separate and use on a shelf, then just clip together when we are on the move.

Thanks for the advice! I am very tempted.

TheBitterBoy · 28/04/2016 19:00

Just popping on to say thanks for this thread - I got the table with four stools inside today and it's great, really sturdy.

AnnPerkins · 28/04/2016 19:36

I bought the Lidl foil-backed picnic blanket several years ago and it was perfect for the floor of our tent bedroom. Good insulation under the sims and big enough to carpet the whole area.

AnnPerkins · 28/04/2016 19:44

Has anyone tried the notebook BBQ? It's half the price of one I saw on Amazon, but wonder if it'll be too flimsy to get much use out of.

Callmecordelia · 29/04/2016 08:12

Thanks Bitter. I agree, I love mine. I have also sewn a made to measure tablecloth that fits over it like a box, with ties that attach to the legs. That's possibly going a bit far....
