we bought a cheap tent last year on ebay which was fab however we didnt count on having another baby for this years trips. Camping is the only way we can afford a break so need a cheap tent that I can save up for but not exceeding £150 as that would be wayy too much for us. ideally would like: 2 or 3 sleeping sections
Good height on living area.
Able to fit a travel cot in as will have a 1yr old, 3yr old and DB who is due next week.
Also not too huge when packed as have a renault scenic but will have all back seat full of car seats and double pram and travel cot in boot on top of normal camping bits.

Think that is all I require and am hoping to make around £40 for the tent we bought last year so any ideas????????

oh no how dare a camping shop be shut!!

Good luck on the German tent, it looks fine doesn't it?

It seems to be similar to the Pro-Action Argos one last summer.

How much was the pro action one Lucy??

Lucycat · 05/01/2007 20:40

I seem to think it was around the £200 mark, although it may have been cheaper. The new catalogue should be out soon, so it's always worth a look!

Would something like this one be big enough for you?

Kittypickle · 05/01/2007 20:48

I don't think it will be big enough but saw this which has one bedroom. It is £99.95 on outdooraction.co.uk.

or this Gelert Utah one for £150.

It has the height in the living area and the one big bedroom.

same tent even cheaper here

also like the Seattle 4!!

Now that UTAH looks like it may do the job. Thanks Lucy.

I need to have double lilo Ds ready bed (not 100% as he could sqish in with us) and a travel cot in the one room and that looks like it may work. I suppose DH could always sleep in the other bedroom with DS, but that would be a bit horrid.

Our Outwell Colorado 8 this one sleeps a double airbed and 2 single ready beds in the one bedroom, that's why I thought the German one would suit you. It's better if there isn't much room inbetween the airbeds, then the little ones don't end up sleeping in the gaps!

We didn't pay that much for ours btw and they don't make it anymore!

are you and kittylette the same person? or am I drunk already?

No I am UCM, you must be pissed

Thanks for that one, yes that'd be purrrrrfect but for the price.

oh that seems a bit long for a link, but our tent is quite roomy, coleman canyon 6 berth thing, and you can stand up in it in each section, had travel cot in it last year, in "spare room bit" - I am good at these technical camping terms

it seems almost a bit too big, but small compared to some of the gigantic ones pitched around us, it cost £100, from local camping warehouse type place.

Sorry UCM!! I think Kittylette's post confused me - (not too dificult that!)

I'll keep a look out on my camping shop travels for you!

Hi nemo

just bought my Mum and dad a Gelert Cyclone on Ebay (brand new) for under your budget- would tick all your boxes, they normally go for about £150 (the one on there atm is £180, but that's a bit )

I do tend tor ecomend gelert though LOL- have a tahoma, adore every inch of it.

otherwise you'd probably suit a vis a vis design, ike the alska here or similar.

Just trying to think what others- um, the vario range (sunncamp or gelert) are always worth picking up second hand, if you can and would suit yur needs.

Mine are all high tents- Mum ahs a bad back- so there are tohers about I couldn't look at

we nearly got the pegasus but went for the wynnster corvus 6 instead and it is lovely...we used to have an Aztec Asilo dome tent with 2 bedrooms off at the back but found the bedroom height a pain to deal with, the corvus is full height throughout - if anyone wants a used aztec asilo there's one sitting here in Co Durham doing nothing

Report
Lucycat · 07/01/2007 20:15

The people next to us last summer had the Wynnster Pegasus 6 and it looked really good, they had lots of room in the living area bit and the bedrooms were generous too.

It did take them longer to pitch than ours though as it's a flysheet first whereas ours is all in one!
In fact I think you can see it to the left hand side of ours here!

Report
PeachyClair · 07/01/2007 20:24

The Wynnsters are nice and light too- ours is a bit dark really (its dark green), the only bad thing really (except for the size at weekends, something this little baby would remedy
