WHEN is your first camping trip of 2007?

DH and I were chatting today as to when we are going to brave the first of our camping trips in 2007.
OUr first trip this year was around the beginning of May I think and I remember it was bloody freezing. We have a two bedroom tent and dh, me and two dds were all snuggled in one room trying to keep each other warm.

I think we may try one around easter time. Deffo loads in the summer.

Prob May/June, away at Easter without tent so that will be first opportunity, looking forward to it! We camped first w/e of June this year though and froze at night, although the days were lovely and warm

Probably May half term week. All of our holidays this year will be camping ones as we are on a budget, so we're hoping for a mild year!

Weekend nearest January 26th - two children - tipi - woods in East Sussex. Beat that, softies!!!!!

Mind you, our last trip was for November 5th!

We love camping in the winter - we have lots of hot water bottles, one very big blow up matress for the 4 of us and a fire pot we can light in the middle of the tipi. I can't tell you how wonderful it i. I also can't tell you how wonderful it is to get home again!

DS (4) just asked me if we can sleep in a tent in the garden. I don't feel comfortable sleeping in a tent in my own garden let alone in a field or wherever it is people camp!

He wants to know if we can go 'tenting!' for our holiday this year.

katelyle you are brave, we can't wait to get our tent out, will probably be easter though.

We booked week of mid june, 2week of beg of july, so hopefully miss school hol times.

I can't wait to go camping. We're actually planning a proper holiday in May (you know, sunny skies, soft beds, lovely food) but I think I'm looking forward to our first weekend under canvas more. That's a bit sad isn't it. We usually go early June - might be tempted to try slightly earlier if the weather was good...
