Just looking for personal recommendation for a fairly quiet site. Must have ehu. Ideally no club house, no entertainment. Dd would like wifi. Grin

Porth joke not sure about wfi though

Mother iveys bay is lovely and fits your criteria

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 15/10/2015 19:16

Thanks, doesn't look like Porth Joke accepts caravans.

Mother Iveys bay looks ok, but maybe a hit on the big side. Will go and find some reviews, thanks.

Wow, £39 a night for Mother Iveys bay!

We have been to Trevean Farm camping a couple of times. It's a small cheap site a couple of miles outside Padstow, with two fields, a small playground and a part time shop. They have no minimum night stay and also have ehu.

Difficultchoice · 15/10/2015 19:21

Has a private beach and a couple of others in walking distance. Nice shop, clean toilet block, quiet and well maintained. U can pick your pitch as well.

Trewince Holiday Park near St Issey, between Wadebridge and Padstow. Very quiet. No club or entertainment. Don't think they have wifi though.

I wouldn't pay £39 a night to camp in Cornwall. That's a shocking price. I think Mother Ivey's has a 5 night minimum stay too which annoys me.

Porth Joke is nice but I have never seen a caravan there.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 15/10/2015 19:43

Both Trevean and Trewince look nice. Trevean has wifi so I think that might be the one! Thanks.

Padstow touring park is nice too but can also be pricey! Mother Iveys is fab but it is really expensive now Sad

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 15/10/2015 20:08

We've been to yorkshire or derbyshire for the last few years. Not used to South west prices!

The south east is even more expensive, I really want to go camping in the new forest but begrudge paying £35+ per night for a massive campsite that you cannot pre-book.

Strangely I don't mind paying that price in France or Spain but I think the sunshine helps, and the facilities are usually better.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 15/10/2015 21:33

I was considering trying France but don't know France at all and can't find an area that I think might suit a grumpy teen who just wants to go to Center parcs. Sunshine sounds tempting though.

I went to the new forest years ago. Stayed at Hollands wood which was nice.

I will have a look at that place thanks.

I can't comment on camping with teens as my dc are small but I did get taken camping in France as a teen. Most sites that I have visited have decent pool, beach near by, games room/teen space and a cafe for chips and coke

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 15/10/2015 21:45

I think because dd is an only we need days out. She would be bored hanging round by a pool or on a beach.

Yes, that would be a problem unless you can afford to take a friend but that would change the dynamic of your holiday.

I have all of this to look forward to, mine are currently happy with beach, pool, park on repeat for a week.
