Talk to me about your trailer tents, especially Camp-let

I like to camp for 2-5 nights max. Need something that goes up and down quickly for me, DH and DD. Anyone got a Camp-let or similar? How do you find them and what accessories are essential? Saw them at the caravan show a year ago but £££.

Have you tried UK Campsite - they have a specific trailer tent forum.

We have a Trigano Randger 415 which we bought on ebay. Its a lovely size, and can be used without the awning if required, but the awning is v quick to put up.
I like that the beds are side entry (I have a bit of a thing about crawling up beds) and its nice and balanced.

Ours came from ebay, and apart from tyres was in v good condition

DrTinkle · 06/09/2015 21:01

Thanks CMOT how long does it take you to put it up and down?

The main part can be put up, skirts zipped on and pegged out in under 5 minutes. The awning takes us 5 or 10 minutes depending on us remembering the pole sequence, but is v easy to get on.

That's not bad at all!

Hi. Alternatively you could have a folding camper. They have proper seats inside, fab beds and a sink, cooker. Bit more expensive and a bigger trailer but easier for short stays. Ours takes 30 mins to put up but longer with the awning. We got ours second hand but there's a place in Northampton that sells them

We have a Cabanon Stratos and it is a thing of beauty. The space is amazing - DH and I have a king size room, DD has the same and each of the 2 DSs have a separate sleeping pod (actually just 1 man pop tents) underneath. There is a big living area and, with the "sun" canopy, a big enough covered porch to cook and eat under. There is a sideboard style kitchen which attaches to the trailer when driving. It probably takes about 45 mins to set up so not massively quick (and then I have to faff around with bedding and other kit - we are not efficient campers!)

I could go on about it all day! Let me know if you would like any more info

Oh and we ended up getting ours from someone on UKCampsite who was selling it - so it was second hand but immaculate and much much less than brand new
