Camping - the good the bad and the ugly

For us, camping always seems to be a sea saw of highs and lows - care to share yours?

Highs:
Beautiful location
Lake side sunset BBQ followed by late night star gazing.
Kids having hours of fun on the paddle boards and in the lake
Playing football in the dark.
Just being outside!!

Lows:
Swines who took our paddle board off the beach while I was ferrying kids and crap back to the tent
Thunderstorm which flooded our tent on the last morning.
All the faff of trying to manage with the least amount of stuff possible but still ending up carrying bags of stuff from one place to another.

Ok, we are generally only festival campers these days, so possibly slightly different list
Highs: sense of camaraderie, I love falling asleep to the sounds of distant music and the occasional reveller winding their way home! I also love the "difference" from normal life. I love constantly being outside!
I hate never being able to find anything and not having my own toilet and having to immediate face my neighbours on a morning - can you tell I've just got back from working a festival? I hope you got your paddle boards back - I know they're a fierce price!!

Oh, the lack of standing upright pisses me off - even with a big tent !!!
