Do they mix?

DP has read on the website that apparently they are 5x stronger than normal glasses. I explained that children are 5x stronger than normal people

Tempered glass is a proven safety glass and designed primarily for areas where people can walk into them without harm. It breaks into tiny pieces rather than shards of glass which non-tempered glass does.

If you want to extra protective, have a look at laminated glass which is what they use on shop fronts. The glass is manufactured with a 'sticky' layer between so if it breaks it sticks to the centre layer.

Glasses as in drinking glasses? I would just use plastic and be done with it.

Yes, as drinking glasses. DP thought they looked good...
