How do you dry your tent (like an Outwell Montana)?

Hi. I got back yesterday from a camping trip with our new outwell glendale 5 (which is like a Montana). It rained a fair bit and we had to pack the tent away wet. All the tents I've had before had separate flysheets and inners so were quite easy to dry by lying them on the patio. It was actually dry and sunny when we got so we dried the new tent in the same way but I'm not sure if it will be dry inside. Does anyone have any advice on how best to dry this type of tent? Thanks.

Hi, we peg out just the four corners and let the wind whoosh underneath it for a few hours if it's not raining when we get home, if it's raining its draped over things in the garage - not sure what you do if you don't have a garage.....

I just put mine up on a sunny day and it airs it out and drys it.

We rigged a washing line from rope in our back garden between house and shed. Two parallell lines, pegged tent out. Opened doors, swept out. Took it down at the end of the day and our neighbours let us roll it up in their back garden (decked and shed-less so slightly larger to roll it up). Our is an Outwell Oakland XL.

Slightly wet we've just pegged out the corners and put empty boxes under the roof to give some ventilation.

Soaking wet (only happened once) we had to partially pitch it. It's bigger than our garden so it was a bit of a pain and we had to chop back our apple tree to fit it in.

I've had the misfortune of having to dry a 4m bell in my living room because it came home soaking wet and it just would.not.stop.raining. It took 5 days but it dried eventually by virtue of me going down and turning it round every couple of hours and exposing a new bit to the air. Not my (or anyone's) idea of fun, but it does work surprisingly well even if you can't pitch it.

We used the guy lines to hang in the garage to dry ours out.

Thanks for the replies. I have had a bad experience with drying a tent in the garage as my previous tent got a bit mouldy that way. Obviously our garage was a bit damp too! I think next time I might put something like boxes inside to help dry it out. I'm debating trying to hang it over the bannister today as the forecast is bad for the next few days.

I have just got a Glendale 5 and was wondering about drying it! It's so much bigger than our little mountain tents but after 1 weekend I love it.

Ooh Glendale people - I'm looking at a bargainous Glendale 7 (we're a family of 4 but love the flexibility of three rooms) and really not sure what's between it and the Montana otherwise. Really keen to hear any thoughts on it, good or bad :)
