The evil early morning light waking up the children...

We're going camping in July with DS (who will be 15 months). DH and I are seasoned campers but obviously this is a whole different ball game! I've been reading some of the other tip threads on here with interest - but I am still unsure about the whole daylight issue and sleeping. Do I just have to cope with the fact that DS will be up with the dawn? Or is there a way of blacking out?

Some people use a travel cot and drape something over the top to try and block some of the light. But chances are it will be an early morning if you child is very sensitive to the light. However, sometimes they surprise you and sleep better in a tent. Getting them to go to sleep in the first place can be tricky. Both mine went off perfectly by themselves at home but found getting to sleep in a tent much harder. I used to lie with them until they had fallen asleep. Good luck!
