camping in the dales and peak district

I'm looking for recommendations... my only requirement is that i want to be able to have a campfire. Any tips ladies?

Hideaway at Baxby Manor- just outside of the Dales but very nice.

I would have thought camp fires in the Peak would be out, due to fires on moorland in hot summers?

Have you looked on UK Campsite? On their campsite search you can specify that you must be able to have a campfire. I've found that their reviews are usually pretty honest too.

Not stayed here but it seems to have good reviews. Fires must be in a basket though.

Chelmorton is really beautiful but you're very high up there and it can be freezing (they regularly get snowed in in the winter for example) Personally I'd look for somewhere a bit lower Smile

There's a lovely campsite in Over Haddon just outside Bakewell called Haddon Grove. I think they allow fires, they are very laidback - worth asking them anyway. It's fairly basic, the owner is friendly and eccentric and disclaimer, I haven't actually used the showers Grin

Or Hope Valley is hard to beat as a location - Edale is especially beautiful.
