Just So Festival 2015

We have bought our tickets for the Just So Festival

Just wondering if any others are going, and what they thought.

I saw a few threads on here but sadly mostly negative from a few years ago. Have had good reviews from some friends who went last year, so we thought we'd give it a go.

We've got two DDs, 6 and 3 (almost 4 by the time of the festival), does anyone have any top tips for festivals with small people?
Thanks! Grin

I think were going to try it this year. I've seen the negative threads too and they put me off last year, but I think we'll give it a try to make up my own mind. A lot of the comments were about it being less good than on a previous site, rather than being bad per se.

I'll be going with dp and dds age 2 and 4.

You'll have a fantastic time - loads to do there for the pre-schoolers.

We're back for our 4th year - didn't enjoy it so much a couple of years ago as not so much for older kids to do but they added workshops for them last year which was much better plus DS knows the site so well he just goes off by himself with a mobile in his pocket if I need to track him down.

Last year's festival did seem much better organised too.

The food is great - the pizzas are amazing! DS lived on those and mango lassi

Thanks, that's reassuring.

We are really looking forward to it. The DDs don't know about it yet, it's too far ahead for them to get excited. I wonder when they will send out the information.

Which tribe are you going for, SalomeD?

We've been every year since the first one, whenn DD was 1; this year we'll have DD 6 and DSs 4 and .5.

Some tips here: www.mumsintheknow.co.uk/chester/mitk-chester-just-so-tips/

We're going too with DD 4 and DD 3. Can't wait!

Although I am off to search for the negative threads now.

Any tips?

If it's anything like the year I went, take plenty of water, I mean enough not to use the (non-working) taps they provided all weekend. And have a second person to drive you back from casualty when your child is taken off in an ambulance as the people there literally give no fucks. Funnily enough this is the only festival I've had problems with wrt going with kids.

Shambala is excellent! Sadly too pricey for me now with teenage children. There are loads of other great festies too all over the country.

We went last year and really enjoyed it. We have tickets to go back this year. We ought to have a MN handshake to identify each other.

Doyoufeelluckypunk · 18/08/2015 13:35

We're going!!

Is anyone else watching the weather forecast closely?

droogie · 19/08/2015 14:56

Yes! Just been out to buy an umbrella big enough for 3 and waterproofs for DH (he was being quite stoic until today).

We have fairy lights for the parade, there can't be rain to short them out, can there?!

So what did you all think??
It was my first time and I think I will return.
I liked it :D
Toilets were sooooo far away though from our tent.
Owls this year.....
