in my house anyway!

DD(7) and I slept in the garden last night! I had a new tent last week for my birthday and she was dying to try it out!

It is waterproof! Hoorah! Good to go for the rest of the camping season now!

When is everyone else starting or am I late to the season?!

I'm thinking of this week, but keeping an eye on the weater. It's COLD.

FireAndRain · 28/03/2015 23:13

We are going away next weekend for Easter! Hoping the weather is dry... And a little bit of sun would be lovely Grin

Quenelle · 29/03/2015 08:01

We're going end of next week, just for two nights. We swapped our tent for a campervan though so the weather is less of a concern now.

Bumpinthenight · 29/03/2015 08:05

Glad we camped out on Friday now. Judging by thi morning's weather I wouldn't have got up today!

We were nice and snug in the tent, but I think the air temp was warm. Overnight was chilly so I didn't poke my head out too long!

May Day will mark the start of our campaign season.

You lot are far tougher than me!

hillbilly · 29/03/2015 21:04

We break up next Thursday and hope to camp the following week. Sadly, our favourite campsite Forgewood is not open for Easter so we will have to go elsewhere, possibly Wowo.

whojamaflip · 29/03/2015 21:23

God help us we are going tomorrow Shock

5 nights in Cornwall ..... Forecast is NOT good but we will survive I hope

Copious amounts of gin packed......

whojamaflip · 30/03/2015 23:05

Oh my giddy aunt - it is blowing a complete hooly out there - really am doubting whether we will wake up in a tent tomorrow morning!

Bless the old girl - it's her last season and she's having to deal with 50 mph winds Hmm

RhubarbCrumbled · 31/03/2015 07:00

DS1 and I are going next week! We're both overexcited and are already packed! We got a new weekender tent at the end of last season so it's a new tent weekend too.

TheJiminyConjecture · 31/03/2015 07:03

Just signing in to check whojamaflip is still in a tent and hasn't blown away Grin

whojamaflip · 31/03/2015 13:38

We survived!!!!

One broken tent pole and 2 snapped guy ropes but we came through the night Grin

Still breezy but nowhere near the gales of last night.

Now to enjoy the rest of our stay....

Bumpinthenight · 31/03/2015 13:51

Wow! Camping in this wind is amazing! Kind of feel that we didn't do camping properly last weekend!!

Hope you can patch the pole up and make it to the end of the week!!

Serious amounts of alcohol and duck tape have saved the day Wink

Had spare ropes so the tent is patched up and lives to fight another day (or storm)

Sadly it has confirmed that we need a new tent so will need to research that when we get back.....

Any ideas or recommendations for a family of 6 gratefully received Thanks

Bumpinthenight · 31/03/2015 22:52

Only a family of 3 so can't help there! Love our Outwell arkansas 5 though and there is a 7...
