In the interest of securing decent weather for next weekend, we've been to Decathlon and spent a fortune on many many skiing base layer garments and beanie hats for sleeping in.

We're taking no warm weather clothing at all, no shorts, no t-shirts, no dresses, no sandals. We're packing many layers and waterproofs and wellies, umbrellas and DH's big army poncho which stinks the tent out

The weather for next weekend is now guaranteed to be unseasonably warm and we'll spend the whole time sweltering and wearing camping Crocs and most of the clothes will come back unworn (but still need washing because they all smell of poncho.)

You're welcome Grin

We are off to France for Easter.

Slightly daunted by fitting in packing round work but otherwise very excited. DH has purchased this: www.amazon.com/Rightline-Gear-100B90-Cargo-Saddlebag/dp/B0009NWQWI from the good old US of A, which means we can take even more crap vital camping gear with us (or could if we weren't transporting an extra person on this trip).

And we finally get to try out our new, bigger, collapsible kettle (Outwell jobbie) and Vango storage thingummy bought last Autumn and unused: www.towsure.com/vango-storage-organiser. It has terrible reviews but I fell in love with it so hard I gave in and ignored them - which I may live to regret...

Oooh and new massive, but surprisingly light, camping chairs from the Aisle of Randomness in ALDI: www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thur-26-mar/product-detail/ps/p/deluxe-camping-chair/

Can't wait!

Ha ha I was incredibly restrained in go outdoors although I did purchase a small low picnic table suitable for drinks and the kids to do colouring/eating off. It was super busy though with lots of people buying camping stuff

Well I don't think we are going to have a repeat of the weather last year. Ds was out walking in the Lakes in just his shorts - he was too hot for his shorts! It's tipping it down at the moment so fingers crossed it stops soon

workJack · 30/03/2015 20:54

Bum - I mean too hot for his shirt!

colleysmill · 30/03/2015 21:45

Grin too hot for shorts!!

It's throwing it down here. We've spent loads on our campervan engine this winter and were hoping to leave the new window seals til next year - if this keeps up it will be beans on toast til Christmas

It's funny, isn't it, I found Go Outdoors incredibly busy too. Cold as anything and everyone thinks about spending time outside. On a visit last summer for gas refills, it was as quiet as the grave.

I like the look of that saddlebag thingy.

And as for too hot for shorts... I've not been to the Lakes but I didn't think it was that racy!Grin
