Do I need a zipped in ground sheet?

Am buying a bell tent GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin. So, I am looking at different models. I notice that some have zipped in ground sheets and some have clipped in etc. I am a camping Virgin so I don't really know what difference it makes.

Any advice?

Thanks

I am looking at this one because it seems to be darker inside.

I have never had a clip in but with a zip in you won't have draughts or creepy crawlies so I would say zip in personally.

Ours is ZIG, I seem to recall the pegged-in version has an extra set of pegging and some tucking-in to be done so we went for what we assumed to be the easier option.

Not sure why you'd want a bell tent to be darker inside though? One of the best things about a bell tent is that it's lovely and light and airy inside even when it's lashing down outside, better light for the gazillionth game of Uno

Yes. If it rains the water will come pouring through your tent

Zipped better but clipped in with an upstand works for us

Can you go to a place that has them on display and see?
We had two tents. A sewn in groundsheet. Zero bugs and water ingress.

Thank you, since I posted this I have swung towards the soul pad zig. I will get an inner for dd which I will try and over with black out fabric.

She is nearly 4 and wired from the word go in the morning! Grin

Party - try without first, she will probably be knackered from the fresh air! I know a lot of the kids I know are.
